All right, I haven't posted anything in ages, I know, but to tell you the truth, I got really involved in myspace and Gaia Online and forgot about my blog here.

I would like to start writing in it again, but the truth is, I really don't have much to write about at the moment. As soon as I have something I must share I'll post again.

Pretty sure not many people care, hardly anyone reads this blog, but I still will update every once in a while.

Media Mania

I've thought my life is mostly boring for a long time, but I recently started thinking maybe "boring" is better.

Thinking about all those Hollywood celebrities, and their lives started this thought.

From celebs being in rehab, freaking out 'cause their bigger than their a size two, wearing really revealing clothing to get attention, doing all kinds of things to stay looking young, getting married but then divorcing a month or so later, Paris in jail, and all that stuff that really just seems stupid to me.

I mean, I've been hearing about the media "sexualizing young girls", and I've seen a padded bra for a six year old girl. Six years old! When I was six, I had band aids on my knees, my short hair was almost always a rats nest, got dirt on my face almost all the time, and I played Pokémon or dodge ball during recess with the boys.

Yeah, I'm certainly not like that anymore, but still, why would any girl want to grow up that fast? Do they think adults have it better, are they in a hurry to start dating?

I've never been on a date my own self, but I've certainly learned "love" isn't all it's cracked up to be (I'm not saying I don't believe in love, my parents have been married twenty six years, and I wouldn't call it "love", but I've had lots of crushes, but only ever one I actually really acted on).

It just weirds me out when I show up at the park to hang out with my friends, and I'm wearing jeans, a plain old T-shirt and beat up old sneakers, nothing really showy, and there's some little girl running around in a tight little mini skirt, with this small tank top on, and pretty shoes. Who wears that to play in a park?

Then there are the girls I know who are about ten, eleven, and supposedly "dating" and have a "boyfriend". I'm sixteen (yeah, I'll say my age), and I've never really had a boyfriend (there was one guy, but he doesn't really count I don't think), and, as I already said, I've never been on a single date, and certainly never been asked on one.

I didn't really start thinking about boys until I was probably about twelve or so, and here I am four years later, no boyfriend, and I'm cool with that (I won't deign that I am interested in starting to date).

I don't know anything much about the boys side of all this (why should I?), but I am noticing young boys are dressing differently, and acting differently, but I can't really judge on that, because I have no idea what goes on in a guys mind.

But I don't think I can claim to know what goes on inside a little girls mind either, I was six ten whole years ago.

Still, I wonder if it's really the media's fault, or if it's really the parents fault for letting their kids dress, and act, like that. Sure, the media puts that thought out there, but it's for a person to decide if they're going to let their kid dress in those clothes.

I can tell you this, if I ever have a daughter, I'm not going to let her wear mini skirts and make up until she's a teenager. Why do little girls need to wear make up? I only started wearing make up this year, and not that much of it.

Also on this subject, I recently read "Teen Vogue" (only to read an article on the three main stars of Harry Potter), and I was both impressed, and disappointed at the same time.

Apparently there are girls out there who think that being able to see everyone of someones ribs is sexy, and I disagree, it's not sexy, it's unhealthy, while there are also some models out there wearing shirts that say things like "Eat or Die" to parties. My kudos to those models, way to stand up for health. I've heard one too many stories about models fainting during runway shows.

I'm a size sixteen (yeah, I know, it's not "cool" to be that size), and yeah, I am doing things to start losing weight, but I'm not panicing over not fitting in skinny jeans or looking good in a mini skirts. I would like to go down a few sizes, but I will never been one of those "sexy" girls, and I know it. Guess what? I don't really care. I like people to see me for me, and like me for me, not what size I wear.

Here's the big thing when it comes to this, shouldn't people like each other because of who they are, and not how skinny or "sexy" they are? The word "sexy" drives me nuts, don't ask me why.

Hey, doesn't Green Day have a song about the media, you know "American Idiot"? Good song, I listen to it all the time, mainly to keep me away from stuff like that.

Yeah, I think that's enough of my ranting, but there are my thoughts. If you agree, cool, I'm glad we think the same way, if not, I respect your opinion.

Pirates of the Caribbean 3: At World's End review

Well, this movie starts with a rather startling opening, with a really beautiful song (written by Hans Zimmer) sung by a cast of prisoners going to be hanged. Very emotional way to start the movie, considering the one who started singing first was a young boy, standing in line to be hanged. I was nearly in tears from the beginning.

Among the multiple beautiful sets in the movie, which I'll have more about later, is Singapore, the first place we see the story start to unfold.

Now, I won't give too much away, but in Singapore, Captain Barbossa (Geoffery Rush) and his crew meets a new character, the Pirate Lord Sao Feng (played by Chow Yun-Fat), and attempt to "persuade" him to help them in their quest, to bring Jack Sparrow (played by the great Johnny Depp) back, which opens for the first action packed part of the movie, which I again shall now give a lot away on.

The movie really kicks off from there, with Barbossa's crew, setting off to the world's end, to find Jack and bring him back the the world of the living, with everyone having their own motives in bringing him back.

The journey to Davy Jones' locker is a really wonderful part of the movie, with fantastic special effects featured at every part, the trip back is even more mind blowing (in a way), and let us not forget the actual locker itself, with Jack's "multiple hallucinations" (hint hint ;P).

Anyway, after the trip back, the crew faces yet more challenges, from fellow pirates, Davy Jones (played by Bill Nighy) and his undead crew, and more and more things coming up in Will Turner (Orlando Bloom) and Elizabeth Swann's relationship, making for several dramatic romantic parts (I loved them), as well as more unexpected sources, and I refuse to say more.

Another wonderful set in the film is the Brethen Court, where all pirate "meetings" and "votes" happen, bringing together all the pirates from all the world, making for quite a heck of a scene as the pirates decide what maybe be their final move will be in the battle against Cutler Beckett (Tom Hollander) and the Flying Dutchman.

After being unable to agree on a course of action, the Brethern Court calls in the Keeper of the Pirate code, a man named Captain Teague (played by Keith Richards), who none other than Jack Sparrow's father, and he moves for an unheard of vote (I've already given away to much).

In an unexpected turn of events, the results are rather surprising, but I personally liked the outcome, but I'll let you find out what that outcome is, and the result leads to declaring war against the enemies of the pirates, and thus, the stage is set for the final battle.

The final battle starts with one of the most moving speeches I've ever seen in a film, given by none other than Elizabeth Swann, which rallies the pirates into a fighting force, and the battle begins with the crew of the Black Pearl leading the charge and going head on against the Flying Dutchman, right in the middle of an extremely dangerous storm (gotta love those effects).

I won't saw what happens during the battle, but many things go on that aren't part of a typical ending fight, and action (sword fighting, cannon fire, hand to hand combat) was wonderfully thrilling. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time, unable to look away afraid of missing something. I would also like to mention that one thing that happens during the end battle put me in tears, seriously, it took a lot not to start actually crying (I'm very proud of my control right now).

The ending of the battle is quite satisfying, though sad at the same time, but leaving many things with a good ending (aside from one thing, that I really didn't like).

After all is said and done, it leaves one satisfied with the story closure for some of the characters, but I personally was upset by one of the closures.

But I sat around 'till the end of the credits, and found that the bit at the end of the credits finally left me feeling the story was closed in a good, and satisfying way (seriously, you have to see the end of the credits to see the true ending of the movie).

The end of the movie does hint that there very well could be a fourth movie, but we'll all have to see what happens, but I personally don't think the story of Captain Jack Sparrow or any of the other characters is truly finished, not by a long shot.

Special effects for this movie get a full ten from me, the effects were so real, and absolutely amazing in every part of the movie in every way, I've never seen effects like this since Lord of the Rings.

Music, also a ten. Hans Zimmer is a musical genius, and I own the soundtrack myself, having bought it the day it came out, and also having listened to it over twenty times already. The music gives the movie all the more greatness, all the more fun, and really adds to all that action, humor, and romance.

Acting, straight up ten (this'll take me a few paragraphs to write out). The acting is just as wonderful from every cast member as it has been in the last two movies, especially in the trio of Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, and Keira Knightly.

Johnny Depp is still brilliant as Captain Jack, and maybe even more so in this film, bring even more lovable, and despicable (although the lovable side always wins out) things to the character, as well as making him a little more nutty, but still the same old Captain Jack Sparrow who we all came to love in the first movie.

Orlando Bloom peroves once again he is more than just some eye candy for the ladies, bringing even more depth to the character of William Turner, consrening his love Elizabeth, his sense of honnor and loyalty, and his willingness to make sacarfices for those he cares for most. But still, the eye candy factor is a plus.

Keira Knightly plays one hell of a strong female, displaying her own talent by making Elizabeth more and more headstrong and pirate like, while still keeping her a emotional and loving woman, who puts those she loves far above herself.

Now then, sets get a ten because of beautiful they are and how real they look, giving the story more room, more setting to happen in.

Story line, that gets an eight, sorry guys, but as a said the closure was a little poor, and the story had many things I thought could've been left out, to make room for more important things, but still pretty good. Kudos to the writers.

Overall, the movie gets a 9, maybe 9.5. Certainly worth ten bucks to see, so if haven't seen it, I say you should, especically if you really love the films. Worth waiting in line for too (even if I didn't).

Oh, and parents, please do heed the PG-13 rating! There were things in the movie I found a little scary, and it certainly has a suggestive theme at the end. I'm getting tired of going to movies and hearing kids crying during fights and death sences. I really don't think anyone under 13 should go see it, wait 'till the DVD comes out and you can hide behind the couch. It is rated PG-13 for a reason!

Isn't life grand/weird?

I don't know why, but I've been thinking about life lately (like the last few days, even more so this morning), it might have something to do with the fact that we had to put down my little sister's hampster, which is pretty sad.

So yeah, I needed to write all this down some where, but I lost the key to my diary, and I want to share my thoughts, maybe get other people thinking so I thought I'd post this in my blog.

It's kind of funny, and weird, really, the way life is. It can really suck one minute, then you turn around and everything couldn't be better. I've personally been on that up and down roller coster since I turned thirteen, and I'm just now trying to get it under control, not that I'll actually be able to do that.

Last week I didn't see any of my friends at all, I was stuck home by myself all week while my sister went out and played with all her friends, then this week, my usual friends that I hang out with showed up at our usually meeting place, and the next day I went off with a different group of friends, who I like slightly less, but still. I was so depressed last week, I couldn't stand it, but this weeks been great for me (how's that for a roller coster ride).

How many people really live life like every moment is all there is? I probably don't myself, buty imagine the way the world would be if everyone went after what they wanted most in the world, and never looked back. I'm not saying everyone should just drop what they're doing and go do something crazy, but maybe you should see if you can write that book you want to, or paint that picture, or sing that song (I'm just giving lame examples).

I'm trying my hardest to chase down my own dream, maybe not hard enough, but it's on my mind almost all the time, and I'm usually working on it, wether it looks like it or not.

I know everyone's done something they wished they hadn't, but regrets don't really help now do they? It's not easy to forget about them, but maybe people (including myself) shouldn't be so hard on themselves. I've made pelnty of stupid mistakes, but what's the use of beating myself over the head for it?

Err... I hope I'm still on topic. Anyway, there are a lot of things I want out of life, not sure when I'll get them, but if I keep a positive look on life, maybe I'll get them faster. *sigh* Man, aren't they tons of things everyone wants out of life...

Not sure if this will make anyone think, or if anyone will agree with me, but that's what I think.

By the way, a really good series for this kind of thing is Fruits Basket. It's totally amazing the way the main character is about life. Watch that series, and you'll find yourself smiling for hours on end for no reason (if you're like me anyway).

First post

Well, I've never really posted on a blog before, so I wanna make this as interesting as possible, and I suppose I should pick a topic. How about everyday life? Yeah, sure, everyone can relate to that.

Cell phones, what is up with them? I know six-year-olds in my karate class who have cell phone, while I'm a teenager (I will keep my age private, thank you) and I have to borrow my parents cell phones, which they hardly use (and I hardly use). Cell phones are a great part of modern life, but it's like if you don't have one, you're automaticly not cool, and "you should go get one 'cause everyone has one".

Everyone does not have one, and I count as part of everyone right? Cell phones: love 'em, but they're over rated. People use them as a social status indecator inside of using it for what's for, comunication. And even then people tend abuse that.

I have friends who with be standing five feet away from their parents, and call them on their cell phone to ask if they can go for take out. Or the case where people are standing next to each other and texting each other. I just don't get that, but what do I know?

Okay, now, the internet, where would we be without it? I don't wanna know, I love computers and everything that you can do with them. Pretty much everyone has a computer, and they are very useful, for gaming and stuff like that, as well as important parts of life, such as careers and the everyday social networking from e-mail.

I love my anime forums, fan sites, graphic sites, AMVs, and so on. The first time I watched Fullmetal Alchemist, I watched to whole series on youtube (one of my favorite sites), as well found what have before my favorite songs. Internet: Gotta love it, love it, love it!

Uh, TV, seen of a lot of good stuff on the Discovery Channel (Mythbusters rule), Science Channel (space week is the best), Nat Geo, History Channel, so on and so on. (Yeah, lable me a nerd, I don't care.) Adult Swim is a great place from some funny as hell stuff, and some great anime(most of it is just plain gross if you as me though).

Some of the classic channels (Nicklodeon, Disney Channel, Cartoon Network), have been real disapointments lately. What's with the new stuff they call "cartoons"? The animation is really bad, the voices are generally sucky, and don't even get me started about the lame plots, villains, story lines, and all that. Childern are actually watching this crap?! What the heck is happening here? I didn't even watch cartoons for most of my childhood, I had things call books. I'm not even gonna talk about Spongebob, I can't stand that show.

TV: Some good, some bad, mostly anime is good, as well as some old cartoons.
